Every year on the last saturday of July more than 250 kayakkers gather on Copenhagen Beach – Amager Strand – awaiting the starting signal for one of the most spectacular kayak races in Scandinavia: Amager Strandpark Rundt.

The renowned Sundby Kajakklub hosts the third largest race for kayak and canoe in Denmark – the only one in Scandinavia with the startling Le Mans start, where the competitors are started directly off the beach and race to the boats by the waterline.

The event is marked also by fantastic beach ambience – spectators enjoy cold drinks and snacks, grooving to the music playing.

Youth competes in their own classes – under 16 and under 18. The race is not recommended for competitors under age 14.

There is an alternate course of 10 km for non-racers.

Signing up
You can sign up from the beginning of June until 5 days before the race. It costs dkr. 275 or 36 euro to participate. Youths under 18 costs dkr. 125 or 16 euro.

When the regular sign up closes you may sign up on the day of the race at the registration tent on the beach. Late sign up costs dkr. 300 or 40 euro, youths dkr. 150 or 20 euro.
